There is supposed to be a way to drill it while it is full and running. I have no idea how, but Tangster has mentioned it before that he has done it. Just a thought, like I said I have no idea how!

Its like a road trip and you miss the turn either turn back or just keep going all roads lead somewhere :) The question is where ??? As for the wife WELL I'd say not to miss any turns when they are with you :)

All the CPR stuff is pricey and its never really impressed me and their skimmer's are not high on my list for even what they are HOB's .. I think and I'd rather run the type from the acrylics place better . I'd not use that hose on either and you do not want all the water from the overflow running through the bio tower portion either.. About 25% of the Hourly turn over rate is all . As for cube or the BIO balls hell old hair curlers and the best I ever found to use was a ball of old weeder cord or heavy fishing line

Well then the acrylic is out because it appears the inlet leads to the bio ball chamber first with all the flow. Correct ?

If you pipe it and not use a single hose then you make it go where you want it to abd a few valves control ther flows.

    Ugg,
Cut. modify, weld, glue, clamp. drill.....

    How about

If you have a rule and a Hacksaw all you need is a few fittings and some glue I can walk you through the whole process its easy to do.. I have guys here that had never drilled a tank before they had used HOB overflows and wanted to drill , They did it LOL Like my Grandfather used to tell me as a kid lead follow or get out the way LOL . I was to all around General helper for the 4 or 5 plumbers he had working . Thats was back close to 50 yrs ago when plumbing was a real trade and kids had to work :)

I did say that this tank was live, dind't I ?

Is this like a newbie hazing or something ? Lets see if we can get the newbie to drill a hole in a tank filled with water... I might have been born yesterday, but at least it was at night.. Or something like that..

So are you saying that the overflows, no matter what kind, just don't match up to a drilled tank ? In what way ? If the water flows it flows. I suspect the same principles apply in both, no ?

I've had both, hob and drilled overflows and the drilled is the best imo. I wouldnt recommend drilling while the tank is running. Is there any way that you could transfer evrything from one tank to another and drill from there? Luna
