    this green Algae is starting to grow on some of my base rocks and I wanted to see if anyone could tell me anything about it.
    Good or bad...
    I was thinking maybe I'd end up getting an Angel or something to eat it if it continues to acclimate.
    Suggestions?

    thanks

    Your picture is a little blurry but it appears to be green coralline algae.A good start.It will grow very well depending on tank parameters and will do no harm.Can you confirm if it is hard or soft?Does it come off with a toothbrush??:confused:
    I would not add an Angel as there is a chance it may nip at your corals.Do you have any kind of CUC?

    Hard to tell it is either cyano bacteria or nuisance algae, possibly both. A good clean up crew of hermit crabs and snails will help keep it under control.

    Check out Reef Cleaners, a sponsor here, for a great crew and reasonable prices.

    yay! it does not come off at all, and I've noticed green flecks on my encrusted live rock as well. This started growing after I bought my new lights and it's so vibrantly colored!
    I'm sorry, I do not yet know what CUC means {hides head in shame}

    Its actually good news if it won't come off.(probably coralline)
    I think your ammonia issues and mysterious deaths could be coming from dead snails.TEN tURBO'S IS FAR TOO MANY FOR YOUR SYSTEM.IMO
    If they are in fact Mexican turbo's.I would be hesitatant to add one to that sized system.I would stop adding CUC for a while and see how many the tank can sustain.Too large a CUC can be just as bad as one that is too small.

    Coaster - just passing this along - CUC means clean up crew. If you don't know an acronym on this site, you can put your cursor on it and it many times will tell you - such a cool feature :)
