Why does having a pred tank mean "bloodshed"?

For instance, lionfish are about as passive a fish as you can get, as long as they can't swallow their tankmates. In fact, a lionfish swimming regally in a tank is a pretty calming sight.

Eels are another story, however...you really can't trust a moray, altho there are a few peaceful eels/eel-like fish.

Sorry for the OT comments, but I wanted to point out that one can have a peaceful pred tank if you choose the right fish, and FWIW, preds should be weaned onto a variety non-living foods to keep them in the best health.

When your wife is ready to do her pred setup, have her give a shout.

    Back on topic:

Renee and I met thru the hobby, and even MORE lucky is that we seem to like the same types of fish (for the most part). However, that actually raises another issue...there's nobody to say "no", so we have to be mindful of that. At one point, we had 14 setups running!

My wife is very indifferent about my set up. She did let me have it, then plumb to the basement for the sump, etc.

My 125mixed reef is in out family room- since we have no TV in our FR, it's our TV! (we do have TV's however)

When we have people over, lke from church groups, etc., it's often the center of attention and gets alot of peoples attention.

She is not into really like I am, but she puts up with me/it, and does like it. she occasionally looks at it too! ;-)
