That's not true. The waves in the ocean don't mean anything for the reef. The waves that you see are surface variations caused mostly by wind. The currents under the water are what hits the reef and they can vary from second to second. The problem with wave generators IMO is that it's still a laminar wave flow. It only goes back and forth. It's just not random enough to really simulate what corals get in the wind. IMO the random reef crest or lagoon mode of a Vortech is the closest we can get to date.

you might have just pushed me from debating HARD whether to get a vortech to getting a vortech. Im going broke! But this thread and you inspired me and might have just pushed me over the edge on getting one!
