my tank sitter call me lasts night and told me that my clam die... :bawling::bawling:

i had him about 2 month, she said it just looked like he dryed up and i know clams dont just die like that. he showed no sign of stress or problems. i think it was "fowl play".

All i have in my tank is a arrow, clown and a damels. if i was to point a finger i would say it was the clown, he has been very nasty to the other fish and i offerned see him hovering over the clam like he was looking for something to eat, Could he have done it ? the arrow never really leaves the foot of the Toadstools, so i know it was not him and the damels spends must of his time hiding from the clown.

The only new thing i did to my tank before i left, is that i added a hammer. but "it" sits at the very top of the tank in the corner and the clam is/was on the sand bed.

i will be home wed night and i will test my water, or i may just have my tank sitter test it tonight. not a good day at all :(:bawling::bawling::bawling::bawling::bawling::bawling::bawling::bawling:

Sorry to hear about this. The thing about clams is that they can be declining for a long time before they die, and they show no symptoms of anything wrong until one day you find them shrivelled up, as you describe. So it was not necessarily one of your fish or inverts. It could have been lighting, water conditions, trauma, etc. - something that may have happened long ago. Anyway, sorry to hear about it.
