Guys this isnt good. I left for a 3 day vacation to go skiing and was called by my brother who told me a fish died. As my tank was established before the move about a month ago i wasnt too surprised. Also before i left i began to run a skimmer through my new overflows. When i came back, i found that 8 more fish had died!!!! all i have left now are a brittle star, a mandarin, a sand goby, and a snowflake eel... (could be dead now). I also has a huge outbreak of brown algae. My params are completely normal and my temp at 79. AHHHH HELP PLEASE! also its a 100 gal

A few red flags are popping up from your post. First when you say it was established a month ago, do you mean it was set up a month ago? Or was the cycle finished a month ago? By the sounds of the brown algae outbreak it sounds like your cycle is still either not over or very fresh. Either way it is definitely too young a tank to have that many fish in it. The mandarin will almost surely not make it in a tank that young. I would suggest taking it back immediately. Can we get more specific info about your params and tank history?

Oh ok, not as bad as it originally sounded than. Did you use new sand or the old sand when you moved it?

That would be my guess as the problem. Probably caused your tank to go into a cycle which by the sounds of it is over now. Just to tie up loose ends though, I would check your tank for stray voltage and keep a close eye on your params.

Hopefully things will level off for you.
