Thanks guys. I just don't think I had any of them long enough to sex themselves. Haven't had these current (well now one) more than two weeks. As far as the params I would have to test them but I gotta get to work so I don't have time. I know my nitrates are around 20 ppm and I've been struggling to keep them down.

I lost everything to ICH recently so the clowns n cardinal are the first since then. Put new fish in at the beginning of August

If your current clown is doing the fin nipping I'd get a much larger one. When setting up the nano I bought a clown but had to wait till the month after to get a 2nd. The original one was a bit of a jerk, but after adding the 2nd larger one he settled down....got put in his place, hehehe...lucky for us the female is rather calm.

    Edit:
Doing it this way we also had no real aggression from either fish as it was clear who would be dominate.

iv heard you could take your clown out, put it in a separate tank, say your QT tank for about a week, rearrange the rocks and introduce BOTH clowns (old and new) at the same time to your DT. also when i got my pairs of percula i realized when i got home that the tail of one of them was damaged, over time it grew back.

i would do like reef said....take out both clowns take them back to fish store and get two others from the same tank...

and also pay close attention to them, if there are a good many in the tank at the fish store, you can tell which ones show more affection to each other.. may sound wierd but there is always one clown going up and doing the clown shake of love to another, thats the two id get..

but it also could be the pistol shrimp like also previously stated..

I only feed once a day cause I only HAD three fish, is it possible that had something to do with it? I'm gonna blame the pistol shrimp cause these clowns like each other. Never saw any sort of nipping in the short week or two the were together

feeding oce a day is fine, some people skip days beween feeding (not me i like fat fish and waterchanges bahaha) you could make i fish trap out of a 2 liter bottle and catch the pistol shimp...thats how i caught my peppermint shrimp (unfortunately i dropped the bottom half of the trap and he escaped so i quit haha, i was only moving him to a smaller tank because i never see him in my 120) you can look on youtube to see how to make a really simple fish trap!

Better yet heres the video i modeled mine after lol!
