    haven't tried them but remember reading about algae filters a good number of years ago.

    I met Inwall (Curt) at Inland Aquatics in Terra Haute for a local reef club meeting and they have some of these type filters running and have good success with them. Nice place to check out if you are in Indiana.

    Thats what was the hot lick before the refugiums what I used to do was to lay sheets of acrylic the grow the algae on then just lift then out in a rotation fashion then bleach soak the oldest one in there with a new clean one .. They are a good filter system.
