i purchased a 24 gal nano cube with JBJ lighting package about three months ago and im concerned that the lighting is insufficient for plate corals and anemonies. I read everything i could find on nano cubes and cant find a for sure answer. if they are to weak can you please tell me what would be a good set up to get. Thanks for your help any input is appricitated.

Of course! One great site i found for custom nano cube hoods is www.nanocustoms.com I was going to buy a hood from them but decided i didnt want to make my 12 gal a reef. Im agree that the stock lighting is probably not enough for those more light needy corals and anemones

O ic...well if you have the jbj nano cube...there really isnt a way to add lights to it...the way the hood is build being so compact...

Epic, actually the 12gal dx nano has 4.8 watts per gal. Since the tank is really shallow the light intensity is quite good. I have mushroom, frogspawn, bta's and zoo's in mine and they are all doing great. I also had a maxima clam until my hermit got hungry.

Upgrading lighting in this cube might cause other issues like heat. my tank runs around the 78 to 80 range and that is with a stock setup add more light and you bought one expensive fish fryer.

Hmm, epic, how many watts are running over the 24 gal with the lighting upgrade?

I have seen the viper, its very nice. Im just scared of the heating issue...with a mh over a smaller tank with no chiller it can get very hot.

Yup, i think it should be fine for now thats almost 4wpg since you lost probably 2-4gals of water to sand and rock :)
