Thats why you have 3reef!!! no worries
I feel ya, I really want to drill a hole hole in my wall and run a drain downstairs for WCs, it would save about 30 minutes on the process, estimating! I'll do it someday! That being said, I'd do it, you've been amazingly patient so far, why skimp now??? lol

That being said, I didn't do it, so no judgement allowed by me;)

You remember that one time I said I would have this up and the rock cycling between Turkey Day and Christmas?

    Hahahahahhaha!

    That was funny :).

Between working 12 hour days for the month and getting everything ready for little Thor's Christmas I have made about zero progress. Well, I did get the framing and cabinet cut for the shelf above the tank (the pics are boring, I put them up when I have some others that are more exciting.

Ah well, this a marathon and not a sprint :).

Lol! Too true Daniel about this thing needing to go up. It has certainly taken longer than I originally planned. It's all good though, and for the record I do hope to get some progress in during my week off at Christmas. We will see how much...

I 100% agree Corailline! My little man is priority numero uno. Especially given a very rough first year. However, a little celebration in that regard--he had 3 brain surgeries in his first year of life, and we are now a little over 1 year since his last surgery and still no seizures (he was having up to 75 a day--I can't describe how powerless that makes you feel as a parent). Now, he is walking, learning to talk, and picking up new things each day. And, even more amazing, he is such a happy fun loving kid. He is stronger than me, that is for sure.

That being said, this WILL get done. I had even mentioned to my wife that I should think about selling it all because it was taking so long, and the money I still need to put in it. She was having none of it. She knows how much this tank means to me. She is a great wife, and tremendous mother to a kid who needs a lot of love. I'm a very lucky man.

Anyway, despite the long work hours, I also kind of blew much tank budget on christmas gifts for the two of them. No biggy, if I have to save up for a few more months again, they come before my toys.

A long road ahead, but I promise there will be a box of saltwater and rocks with some expensive lights hanging over it in the end:).

I do appreciate the patience for those of you willing to tag along.

    Hi, remember me? Hahahahahahah!

Short version, basically nothing has changed since the pics above. Pathetic. Life has gotten in the way. But not too fear! While my original plan has shifted some I'm ready to get this thing rolling.

Since I don't have the time to finish up this build myself the way I want, I am calling in some professionals. I'm reaching out to local aquarium places to see what they can do for me to finish up the build and get this set-up.

Details to follow in the next few weeks once I get some quotes and timeframes nailed down.

    Hope you all are well!

    Scott

    Hi Scott.

Sounds like a plan, take advantage of their labors and enjoy the results, you probably deserve it.
