    Stand Progress, and next tasks

I think I have mentioned previously that this would be a slow and steady progress. Since my last post we completed the rebuild of the base for the stand, minus some sanding and finish work. We also still need to decide on doors for this beast. I think we will go solid on the sides, and limit access just through the front panel. That will be next, hopefully sometime this weekend.

Second, My wife and I have to prep the room It needs to be painted, as well as the adjourning kitchen. Move a few other things around and we should be there to put the tank/stand in the room.

Then plumbing and electrical. Aquascape. Cycle Rock. Then fishless cycle and we should be good to go. I'd say, give me a month or two and I will be established and on the prowl for my first purchse.

I do! It's currently sitting in boxes on my deck. I don't really have anywhere to cycle it until I get the tank up unfortunately...

Thanks Bruh, and you are right. Positive vibes, positive thinking, good things happen. Although I must admit after the 2 years my wife, son, and I have had this is long overdue! I am thankful for every bit of it though. Hope I do you proud Soldier. I'm not up to your skills yet, but maybe with time...

You not only did me proud but everyone on 3reef with your knowledge and input. My skills are no way nears as good as yours. I have learned to take it slow and pace myself since my build is on a larger scale. I hope to do you and everyone on 3reef proud and not to let anyone down. Hoooooaah

Oh yeah, here is a pic of the stand in progress.

I just need to cut some plywood for the sides and fabricate a door for the front.

Other then that, I did some thinking on the plumbing I will need, and I will start to pick up pieces here and there and can start fitting while the room is getting painted.

I also need to build the stand for the QT, and build a shelf to go above the DT (its hard to explain, but if it works out as planned it should provide me storage for RODI water, and serve as kind of a "floating hood" look.

I hope to get some time in on some of the projects this weekend!

I'm so happy for you Thor!! I really love the build phase. I think it's why my tanks see so much change. I'm always longing for the planning stage. I can't wait to see your tank come to fruition. You have earned what will eventually be an epic display!!

Thanks for the encouragement Grim! I'm excited, and getting more so by the day. Given enough time I sure hope I can live up the "epic" status! Either way, I got me a tank, and I'm having fun figuring out how to get her together. That is all that matters :)

Thanks Chelseagrin! I hope the final product lives up to the hype. I digress, but what is up with you? Didn't I read a ways back that you were taking a break from your tank for awhile? There's gotta be a story there!

Thanks for the Karma Grim. I tell you, your tank is an inspiration to me. I love seeing what you have done, and how you are always looking for ways to improve.

    Tank build updates:
To day was spent purging the room the tanks will go into. We had filing cabinets full of documents going back 7 years, and other items we have accumulated filling the place up. We got through all of it, and will be moving out a computer armoir and a twin bed in the next week or so. Nice.

Tomorrow, I head up to my inlaw's to try and finish up the build aspects of the stand. If I have time I will do some of the finish work--filling, sanding, etc. Who knows, I may get some paint on it tomorrow too if all goes well.

    I love progress!
