Sorry for the weird/semi complete posts. The last two nights I have started them, had problems uploading photos and then left without saving. Apparently they posted. Weird.

No big whoop. On to the pics! (I apologize in advance for the colors/poor photography. All iPhone, and rushed. One of these days when the little guy isn't pulling me off to play every 3 minutes I will get some better pics).

Okay, Vinnie and Coraline, you convinced me and you were right. May I introduce you to one of the newest members of the Thor Nano Community. I knight thee, Flash!

So far he has been a model member of society. Millie the Clownfish chases him/her here and there, but it doesn't seem to phase 'em. Great beautiful and active addition! And I don't need to worry about my corals as I would have if I had gone the Pygmy Angel route. Thanks again to Vinnie and Coraline for reminding what I already knew.

Also, please allow me to introduce you to Smooch, the lovable Tailspot Blenny:

There he is with his award winning grin! I was most worried about him with Millie, and sure enough she took a good run at him as soon as I put him in the tank. The funny thing is he turned around a gave her a mighty nip right back. She has ignored him ever since. Well played Smooch, well played.

Okay, I will run through the corals. Nothing spectacular, but a few notable items. First, the move has been great, and colors are starting to be a bit more like I want. Or at least they are going in the right direction. Also, coralline algae is sprouting everywhere now. All good things.

The most growth award goes to my plating periwinkle monti:

The new kid on the block award goes to this encrusting monti. I think a Motipora nodosa?

The award for the most interesting color change goes to my stag. I moved it to higher flow and a different lighting position. It has purpled up some, and the polyps have turned a light/neon green. Hard to see in the pic, but it looks pretty cool. It is also encrusting nicely.

And the prettiest coral in my tank, also growing well, my monti setosa:

Lastly, the ugliest coral award goes to my Birdsnest. It has lost tissue, it has bleached, and yet, it still lives. I moved it to lower flow and light and it seems to be coloring up again (at least those areas with polyps).

Thanks for hanging in there with all the weird pic-less posts! Hope you all have a great week...

Sad but true isn't it? I worried he may not make it, given how difficult it was for him to transition to my tank. He was a very sensitive fish indeed, and although he survived in my tank, and was eating, I'm not sure that he every really settled in and thrived in my tank. He spent much of his time in his little cubby. He would come out here and there, and then head back in. I'm not sure if that is typical behavior for them, but from my research, while cryptic, when settled they do spend more time out and about than Chester did. Poor little guy. I loved him while I had him and just wish I could have done more to give him the habitat he needed.
Thank you! They are not great, but they are making progress and getting comfy. I will be curious to see how they grow out and what colors may come out of them. I am also pondering my next coral purchase. I am thinking I need some kind of Millie. A blue millie would be awesome. Also thought about a Red planet, although under LED's I am less impressed. In any event, I think some kind of shaggy acro is where my head is at these days. My buddy may have few other monti's for me to pick from too. Lastly, considering something with more movement--perhaps dun cans. I def like a goniopora, but I'm not sure I am up to that quite yet.

I'm glad to hear you like my livestock selection. So far, I love 'em! All seem to be settled, active, and happy. Definitely given more life and animation to my aquaria. It doesn't hurt that my tank was moved into the main room so I can sit and enjoy them much more frequently.

Lastly, I think the next purchase for the tank with be dosing pumps of some kind. I gotta save up some for something like that, but I think it will help my stability in the long run once I can afford it.

thanks again for all your wonderful advice! 3Reefer rock, plain and simple.

    Good Night!

Thanks Vinnie! I bought him from live aquaria, and both fish came in looking fat and healthy. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again.

Well I spoke too soon. In having some aggression issues with my Starki. He does not like the clownfish one bit.

I'm giving it some time to see if it settles down some. If not I will be looking for a new home for the Starki.

Fingers crossed they come to a cease fire agreement.

Yup, the Starki must go. He was incessantly terrorizing the clownfish all day today. This makes me sad, but he is clearly not the right fish for my tank. I'll be trying to catch him tomorrow evening to take to the fish store.
