Definitely skip the Domino Damsel, they are horribly mean & territorial. I had a friend whose buddy & he were diving, chased a couple of them, and when they came back through a couple hours later his buddy was attacked by an entire school of them LOL.

Powder Browns are Ich MAGNETS. They have an even smaller slime coating than powder blues according to some (LFS man et al.). If you want one, run a UV steralizer. Oh and there is no inch per gallon rule, just compatibility ie. no lionfish and chromis.

Just came back from a nice camping trip this weekend with my family and friends and just saw the additional comments and man I am glad I did. Thanks a lot for the good info and definitely something to take into consideration. As much as I love the Powder Brown I may be staying away from it :(

    Thoughts on Fish Update

Everyone has been very helpful and since I will be starting to cycle my tank soon, I wanted to gather your thoughts on my new wishlist.

Marine Betta (due to aggressiveness I may not be able to choose some of the below fish - which also may limit me to FOWLR tank)

Clownfish x 2 (more than likely tank raised)

    Scissortail Dartfish

    Vanderbuilt Chromis

    Green Chromis

    Foxface Lo

    Scopas Tang

Due to the sizes of the Scopas, Foxface, and Betta I will probably only one of them. (Also caution is required when tangs and Foxfaces are housed in the same tank).

Also what would be the order of precedence be?

    Thanks again,

    Shrek

If you want the Marine Betta for sure I would def. say a FOWLR is your best bet. Think of this fish as a pretty grouper. If it fits inside its large mouth it is probably a potential meal.Being nocturnal they like low lighting and prefer to come out at dawn or dusk to eat. A large cave is essential. With this fish being a predator it means it has an increased bioload due to the foods it will consume.
Also I would not put a scopas tang in this tank. They get way too big.IMO
I am partial to the Tomini tang myself. They don't get too large and are awesome for cleaning the tank esp. since you will not be able to house any hermits in there with the Betta.Kole tangs are also a good choice.I would not recommend a foxface either. esp. if you plan on a tang.
If you are really serious about the Mandarin I would strongly caution you not to put any fish that prey on pods in with it. Wrasses in particular can devestate a pod population in short order.Good luck.

    Thanks Vinny,
my second list that I wrote down is what my new intentions of what I wanted. Yes I would like to have that Marine Betta though understand that they may/can/will eat anything that can fit into it's mouth. Which might be the only reason not to get it :(

from what I have been reading I was going to get either the Foxfaceor Tang..not both. However I will look at Kole and Tomini Tang and no I am not serious about getting a mandarin any more from the responses of others to on my post (at this moment until I am more qualified/informed on them).

    Thank you!!
