I noticed what at first looked like a white thread had landed on top of one of my live rocks. Afrer looking at it awhile, I noticed the end was moving as in a live entity. Anyone have an idea what this "worm" may be?

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
There are sooooo many types of marine worms and different stages of their development.

The vast majority that are common in this hobby are harmless. I would not worry about it, you are going to see a lot of different types. Unless you witness some type of unexplained damage to corals I would not give it a second thought.

But if you are looking for worm ID's here you go. This link will serve you well in future ID's.

Could also be a digitate hydroid.
