Hello. I just recently (yesterday) transferred my fish from a 10 gallon tank to a brand new 12 gallon. I have 2 Chiclids, 5 Tiger Barbs (1 green) and a Crawfish. Now the first thing I noticed is that as soon as I turned on the light, all the Barbs swam for shelter and started freaking out. This tank has a bright florescent light as my old tank had a soft yellow bulb. So I covered the light with a few strips of electrical tape to darken it a bit, and now there starting to come around. I was watching them closely and I have noticed that on 3 of the Barbs, some of the scales on there stripes have started to turn green. Is this normal? Will it go away? Anyone else have this problem?

Could be a different k rating on the bulb. I'd probably remove the tape from the bulbs.

The k rating between the bulbs(new one/old one) may be different. Different ratings bring out certain colors more than other colors. I don't think that there is anything wrong with your fish or bulbs. Your older bulbs may have been just "old".
