Well to take that question from Gresham, you could buy a coral food such as phytoplankton (i use that and its great) but you really probably dont need to feed them that much :) also if your not supplamenting your tank i would start to keep those polyps! iodine, CA, molbydium (spelling :p) and stontium also some trace elements (they sell those in bottles...i dont use them but it wouldnt hurt ;))

PS: lol a Vlamingii tang, we have one of those in the 900gal shark tank XD

    GKW:

The species of pods you have most likely differ from the Tigger-Pods, but they'd still consume a Phytoplankton product, or even crushed flake, algal flock (from your cycling tank algae) and bacteria.

I don't think you'll have a need to dose any supplements as Bruce mentioned. It's a bit early IMO and will only lead to more algal blooms.

KB.Bear: makes sense now, I was a bit tired from a long week and thought for a second you meant as a food source. Now that I'm fully awake, I didn't read your 1st post that way again :) That stuff is INSANE for turnulance controll, huh :D

    coo, thanks Bruces!

Also, I can either buy the tigger pods OR same amount $ of LR. What do you guys recommend?

    Thanks!

PS - I still the the cocktail shrimp's remain in there. Should I remove it? Or that's considered food for them?

And to Gresham, I have no trace of any algae in my tank right now. I guess it's due to the RO/DI water or mine is a "late bloomer." :)

Tough question, and one that the answer wouldn't make my boss happy...I'd get more live rock and plan on adding the Tigger-Pods later.

    Is your tank lit yet?

Not yet, only with 70 watts NO (40, 15, 15). I won't be able to get one anytime soon(as least 6 months). I am doing FOWLR first to get some experience. When I do get it, I will be going all out. :) Well, maybe 800 watts MH + PC combo.

Is that the reason I don't have any algae? My water parameters are good since today. NH-4, N0+2 are 0 and NO+3 is <5ppm. My tank is now cycled, right?

    Thanks!
