Looking at the amount of space I have for a sump. I have 30" x 18" footprint under my DT that can be used for the sump/fuge. I was going to use a 20 long, but equipment will take up too much space. So what are my options?

    Equipment includes: G3 skimmer(11.75" x 12"), an Eheim 1262(8.6" L x 4.6" W x 6.3" H), 2 Phos-ban 150 Reactors(each are 4" x 4.5"). I would like to have a decent sized fuge. Baffles will be 1.5" apart.

Whatever you do check the size of the door opening. I bought a 12" wide sump a couple years ago for my 65g 36x18 and the stand was made by Perfecto and it had a brace in between the doors and I ended up having to return it and get a 10" wide sump so it could fit into the stand. Just a thought...

Or you could take the middle brace out to fit the biggest tank in. Brace the tank yourself with a couple of "L shaped" 2x4s before removing the middle brace. Sounds like you have too much stuff to fit in a 20L though.

The stand will be custom built by myself. So I can change things as need to accommodate this before I actually build it. Doors will be put on after the sump goes in.

If I have to do a custom, here's what I was thinking.

The red circled area looks like a waste of space to me. You should only need 1 set of bubble traps, not 3.

I see what you mean. hmm What should I do with the wasted space?

maybe this could be where I run extra filter media if needed?

Wait...you haven't built the stand yet? Build a stand big enough to house all your stuff...not try to shove it all in a smaller space.
