Hey guys! Havent posted in a few weeks thought I'd update ya on my tank...

Here are a few pictures! (Note: I had to remove some plants because it looked like it was dying a few weeks after I put it in, so I'm looking to get some other types of decorations)

    Pictures: http://flickcabin.com/public/viewset/17112

I've had the clownish in there for about a month, and the chromis for only a week now. I def want to get some coral soon, but am not sure which ones to get, with this being a new tank and all...any recomendations? I'd love to fill it up...

I'm also planning on rearranging the live rock and evening out the sand...

I'm thinking of putting up a centerpiece...I'm digging this one...

Be careful stirring up the sand. Once the sand gets set, it can cause more problems than it is worth. Your tank may be young enough to do this safely, but if you did this with mine (two years old), it would create havoc.

Looking at the pictures, I am presuming you want a little sand showing on the left side. You could always add a bit to that area (try not to go over 2 inches deep---or much over that---the science is not exact). It will be cloudy for a bit, but will clear up soon enough.

As for corals, IMO it depends on how old the tank is. I don't like recommending corals in a tank less than three months old. And that is pushing it. For the more tweaky corals, I like a system to be about six months old. I have a system that has been cooking now for the better part of a year and the only thing I have in it is a damsel. It is now ready to go.....just a 10g tank, but still, I have been extremely patient in letting it balance.

So go slow brother. Go slow. :)

    thanks for the reply

yeah the left side needs some...i dont think im buying more i just want to remove the rock and slowly move some from the right side over to the left to even it out...ive very well aware of the havoc that is caused when sand has yet to settle...

like i said the tank isnt too old and im not really in a rush...just seeing what people think ya know

Cool man. You have some hardy fish in there. Any 'havoc' caused should be taken well by the inhabitants. At worst a little cycle occurs that needs to resolve. No biggie with clowns and chromis'

Tank looks nice and water crystal clear. Little clowns look so cute next to the big chromie lol

When you said "centerpiece" you mean buying that? If that's your style, cool. IMO I would try to make a cave with rocks instead (I did with my rocks). Looks more natural.

There are quite a few beginner corals you can put in... but like most people would say, check your water parameters first before adding corals. Ammonia and Nitrates.

I'm still open to suggestions, a cave could work too!

I've been testing my water and it seems to be alright, what beginner corals do you suggest?

Can you give numbers on you parameters? It's frequent that someone newer to the hobby says "they're alright" when they're really not.

I think just a regular 100watt lamp, nothing special came with the tank...I know i'll need some special lighting for coral
