time for MH

    i have a 50g tall and i have two MH one 150w the other 175w. as far as time runing them i have been keeping them on for about 6 hours a day. i want to know if i could keep them on 8 hours. my gsp is growing fast and beautiful from these lights.

    yes most people that i know run them for eight hours. I would not run them any longer because it will grow hair algae like crazy.

    ok i really dont get much algea i have a ton of snails and my tang and hippo take care of alot of it. but still thanks

    No problem. Just saying anything over eight hours is just over kill and isn't necessarily needed.
