I currently have a Plastic molded Sump that has reeked havock on me now for some time. I recently bought a new Skimmer and well my sump is just to small. Who makes the best sump for the buck? Please tell me your personal expiriences. I need three compartments BTW....

you'd be ahead money to find a used tank on craigslist and silicone some baffles in.

    Hey, surferdude
What skimmer did you end up getting?
And if you're looking for something inexpensive why not buy a tank and put in your own baffles with acrylic? Very cheap and you can make it custom for whatever size compartments you need.

Copy that and thanks for trying to save me $$$$. I don't really have time to build and want a full proof design. I am having some Micro bubbles that I think are causing my return u tubes to my siphon box to collect bubbles. I have to suck the bubbles out once daily so I want s good trap. :-[

The u-tube it should have enough flow to suck them through. Can you get some more flow from the return pump?

    Jim,
I got the ASM G2 Skimmer. Love it! I don't understand how the return pump will effect the bubbles forming in the U tubes in my HOB overflow box??? Maybe I need another cup of Coffee>>>

    Congrats on the G2!
From my understanding if there is enough flow through the u-tube the bubbles should be sucked right through and down the plumbing before they have time to accumulate. With a strong return pump the bubbles should be forced through the u-tube.
Maybe somebody with more experience can chime in, my tank is drilled so i have never had this problem, just heard of other people with the same issue.

    Unclejed,
I am not at home currently, maybe I can post pics tonight. Pretty simple though, I have a 12" long by 5" front to back and 10" deep overflow box divided with a waterfall down to where I used to keep my sponge, with a 1" flextube going into the dump of my Sump. The first compartment is Carlupa and Macro Algae with a 3" sand bed and Crushed coral. The second compartment is my Skimmer in the middle and my return pump just to the right. Too much in such a small sump -too crowded. Also my sump is only 12" deep. Don't know the size Mag pump - came with the set-up. I think it is about 750GPH and the return line is 1/2" flextube.
