Well I have decided to make the foxface my first choice and if my LFS doesn't have a foxface I'll probably pick up a yellow tang, oh and I only plan on having one tang in this tank so the yellow's aggresion to other tangs won't be a problem.

as you rightly point out m hsiao, it could happen, lots of people have lots of different experiences with their fish

its as well that the OP is given advice from both perspectives if it goes well, great, but at least if there is a reaction, your posts have prepared them for that

you wont be the only person who has had a negative reaction from the yellow after subsequent introductions , as you point it a lot depends on the size of tank, and the character of the fish in question.

what i'm trying to do is basically keep your options open but if you want to jump on a few fish that will eventually lead to you not being able to introduce another fish at one point, by all means. it's your tank of course, you have to be happy with the choices
but i thought i was only going to keep "one of that" till throughout reef keeping, you will encounter fish that you've never seen and will want to keep, and by then, you may regret not of doing things to prevent that from happening int he first place..
i'm just trying to get your prepared for these little things which i went through myself..
    anyways, happy reefing!

Dont take offense--I wasnt trying to bash you--I think many opinions are important to making a good decision--at least that has been my experience here. i am sure that you really did experience that issue-i did not. Every fish is different and every tank is different, that is the beauty and challenge of this hobby. If everyone just threw a tank together and it worked the first time and stayed perfect, I think that would be boring-at least in my opinion. That is why I switched to salt from fresh--I ran out of challenges. Fresh was boring after everything settled down (I have 5 freshwater tanks). Dont ever stop posting your opinions and experience, thats what makes this site work!
