What about U2? They have been aound since the 80's

 

No idea who's in the first video but I was a huge fan of Iron Maiden and Judas Priest and Ozzy back in high school. That's about as "hair band-y" as I got in the 80's

 

I hated U2 when they first came out but after a few years, I liked their sound. Then Bono went and got all political...can't listen to them anymore. I hate it when musicians and celebrities get in your face about politics....pet peeve

I didn't want to upset any one but since you started it............I hated U2 when they first came out and still hate them. I am even a Mobile DJ on the weekends and I don't own any of their songs. That is not music to me. If it doesn't make me what to kill small farm animals then I don't want to listen to it....
