It's been right at a year for my current T5 bulbs and this weekend I noticed that the lights arent as near as bright as normal. I'm getting ready to go ahead and start replacing the bulbs. None of my LFS carry the bulbs for my setup and only sell coral life, which im not a fan of. My t5 is a 7 bulb setup with 3 different switches. Three switches on fixture for dusk / dawn lighting or for reduced lighting applications. One switch for 3 rows, another for 2 rows, and the last switch for 2 rows. Also, separate power cords for each of the switches. Right now im keeping some soft corals, mushrooms, polyps, leath coral and a rose bulb tip anemone. Going forward I plan to keep adding more coral. I'm not sure exactly what bulbs to go with because the ones that came with my fixture arent marked and I bought this setup used with these bulbs in it. Right now visual looking at the bulbs it looks like 1 purple, 2 blue and 4 white. All my coral right now are out and seem to be loving the light. Moving forward I just want to be prepared for future coral and was wondering what the best combination is. I looked at the t5 combo thread but couldnt really find any 7 bulb setups in there.

    Thanks!

Ok i just went and turned the bulbs to get the markings off of them. Currently its

    ATI Blue Plus x3
ATI Fiji Purple Coral light x1
    ATI aqua blue special x3

Should I replace with the same bulbs? End goal is to have this become a reef type tank.

I would replace one of the aqua blues with another blue plus personally. But that is a great combo, and you should be able to keep any coral you want with those bulbs.

If you like the look and how your corals are doing then replace them with the same models. I agree with dowtish for any change. If it was me I would buy 4 ATI Blue Plus and 3 ATI Coral Plus.
