ok so my 2 250w 20,000k radium bulbs are almost a year old. they are the only bulbs i have experience with. i thought they looked good and had good growth but i dont know anything about any other bulb out there. shold i just replace the radium bulbs or should i make a change? i will be placing the order either way in the morning.

I have the SPS 14Ks and love them. Have been told the 20Ks are even better. Tangster uses them exclusively. You could probably get some pics from him.

question number 2. i also have 2 48 inch t5's (1 10,000k and the other is actinics) powered by a workhorse ballast. these bulbs are also aound a year old. do i really need these with the halides or should i definitley replace those bulbs and use those as well?

if you go with a 14k MH bulb, pick up (2) ati blue plus t5 bulbs.. best blue par bulb.. or UVL super actinics (best actinic) reefgeek.com has them.

wow the uvl bulb is half the price of my Giesemann Powerchrome actinics bulb. Are the giesemann's just overpriced?
actually there both cheaper. if they work just as good or even better, that saves me $30 right there just for the t-5s

Go with SPS or ushio bulbs... best on the market!
Sorry to break it to you Jonjon, but the 14k SPS is actually A LOT lower than the 20k in PAR (weird right!?)
