My current stock (all of which is very healthy):
    2 ocellaris clowns
    1 firefish goby
    1 6line wrasse

The wrasse was suppose to be last ... but my blenny jumped to his death and my Royal Gramma couldn't withstand something (harassment maybe).

So here are the fish I am considering

    Definite:

    • Some form of blenny or goby that eats algae (not lawnmower, can't sustain).
Only one of these (my params tell me I can handle the additional load one of these might add now that RG is gone), any one of which would be my first experience with:

    • Flame Angel Dwarf
    • Coral Beauty Dwarf
    • Cardinalfish (if I can find it from captivity, not wild caught).
    • Some other suggestion

    I have three questions

    • I have CC, so not sure if sandsifting goby/blenny is OK?
    • Do you see any husbandry issues with my list compared to what i already have (I am aware of the LPS potential of the Dwarf Angels)? I'm not sure I should get a cardinal if my RG may have died from harassment...
    • Would it be OK to add the blenny and one of the fish from the list at same time? I'm thinking yes since they're replacement fish the bioload wouldn't be so far off.
    • As far as care, all three of those seem to be basically the same requirements. Just want to make sure i'm not missing something.

I know the cardinal is a lot different behavior wise from the dwarf angels.

As always, thanks! And K to the helpful answers ;)

I am pretty sure the sandsifter would be a no. I am almost sure the CC would be bad for him.

Personally i love coral beauties, but be carefull. They can be coral nippers. But they are gorgeous and very active fish.

Also you might about this guy:

They are really cool. The only issue you MIGHT have is a little static between it and the 6-line, but that depends on how mean the 6-line is. These guys tend to hold thier own, and after a brief initial 'settling in', i'd say he would make a great addition. But that's just me.

    Checked out my LFS.

These are the two fish I think I will get today.

Red Lipped Blenny (it's kind of big) and a smallish Flame Angel.

I dont know if I would get both. Those are two fish a little on the heavy side. I would get one, eait a couple of weeks, then add the second.
If it were me, I would get the blenny first. Don't see the red-lipped ones as often. You can get flame's anytime.
As for the coral, IME they were always fine around softies and LPS. But, they will have a field day around clams and SPS.

+1 on waiting.. dont want to over do your bioload! If i recall is a decently priced fish to chance! Granted, this whole hobby is, but still!

Best of luck, I too was looking into a flame angel, just grabbed a royal Gamma

Just a quick suggestion for a blenny if you haven't gotten one already.
I've always had a fancy for these......

Sorry for all the bs peredhil. Royal grammas are becoming harder to keep in home aquariums. Not the hardy little fish they are usually known to be.
