the angels havent gone after any coral, and havent bothered the other fish. and they pretty much leave each other alone

    sick brain

thought id just throw this out there. my brain looks horrible. not sure whats going on with it. had it a month, in the lfs it looked awesome. but its never looked real good in mine. ive tried it everywhere and it looks horrible. my params are good. when the lights come on, its all nice and puffy and colorful, but after a while , it goes back to looking like this. any thoughts or advice?

Mine open brain did that, looked great for a day in my tank, and then it looked very shrunken and i could see its skeleton and such. Wasnt to pleased by that. Moved a powerhead just recently and took my angel out and its back to being puffy all the time. I think it was being irritated by the flow and the angel. Maybe it doesnt like the flow? I at first with mine thought it was the light but nope... no go on that.

    Hi Divott

does it expand more at night? does it put out feeder tentacles at night?
are you target feeding this coral? Im not well up on brain coral IDs but I do know from searching the WWW that some species dont require target feeding, getting all they need from the lighting and what they catch in the water column and other species do appreciate target feeding with mysis etc when the tentacles are out, which in many cases is an hour or 2 after lights go out

im willin to try anything steve. its such a nicely colored brain, that i dont want to lose it. i take it as an affront to me if something dies. which doesnt happen often. stubborn irish temperment comes out at times like these, :) slainte
