Really nice Purp Tank, I stumped on the Foxface though......all three of mine have a single dot on the tail area. Still all Foxfaces are great reef fish. Excellent tank set-up.

I've got a large foxface and he had one dot for the longerst time. Then the spot just started smudging like yours for no apparent reason. I had never seen one do this before but now I've seen two.

You've been holding out on me - it's about time you did tank thread! I love it - looks great!

Your human brain or the tank brain? :p

I bought a brain (about time, right?) at a frag swap last summer. It looked great at first, but started looking bad fast. After some spy work, I figured out my peppermint shrimp and cleaner shrimp were picking it to death at night - I caught them in the act several times. I finally moved it to Bo's tank, and it's done much better. Just a thought, but you might check to see if anything is bothering it at night.

I have an open brain similar to yours and was also seeing some serious signs of distress. We went away for vacation and I figured he would probably be gone by the time we got home...to my surprise, he was happier than ever....the only thing we did different was that we turned OFF the skimmer while we were gone. My assumption is that it was starving (we keep good water conditions and a very clean tank - pay no attention to the OCD). Since then, as Steve said, we spot feed it pretty regularly and have had no problems since then!
