I like refuges and turf scrubbers to remove nutrients.

Actually, they were your standards, I followed some of your recommendations you gave a few years ago :) Problem is I just couldn't stop! During this cleanup I will be taking several of my little friends back to the LFS :hehe:

And you have the same problem I have, no cushioning on top :) What do you think about those hang-on-the-outside refugiums? There is an AquaFuge2 AF2LG that is 25.5 x 4.5 x 12 that comes with its own pump and lights. It seems to fit the KISS analogy :) You always seem to have logic and experience in your replies so I would love to hear your opinion on them :)

    Oh ty. :)
I have been considering one for my cube actually.Unfortunately I have no experience using one.I would think keeping the pump clean would be the worst part.Maybe someone using one will chime in.

I never used a hob refugium but a friend of mine did. There was a bit of maintenance involved with keeping the pump clean but it was easily accessible. Within a few months it was crawling with life. I believe his was to small for his volume of tank but it was really cool and we'll built.

Well, I'm taking Vinny to heart ;) I'm looking into a new tank of about 200 gal and keeping my existing stock only. :coolglasses: While working on some details a major problem came to mind. All my "stock" will be in those 55 gal trash cans while I'm setting up but how can I put them all back in the new tank before it cycles? They can't stay in the trash cans for weeks can they? A couple at a time maybe :anxious: Any thoughts or solutions out there :looking: HELP!
