My ? Why would a RODI need to be refurbished isnt most of the unit plastic
and filters inside nothing really mechanical right? Is a 5 stage all that neccessary? How important are those bell and whistles (meters, guages etc)*

The BulkReefSupply.com 5 Stage Standard RO/DI unit includes all the essential features necessary to start making pure RO/DI water and provides an excellent foundation for future upgrades. This system includes everything needed to make RO/DI water out of the box. See the details below and the quick compare table to compare to our other standard reverse osmosis units.

    4 stage RO unit
Single DI stage with refillable cartridge
    Air filled pressure gauge*
    Flush kit
    Dual inline TDS meter*
    75 GPD Dow Filmtec Membrane
Purtrex 5 micron depth sediment filter
MATRIKX CTO/2 5 micron carbon block
    MATRIKX+1 0.6 micron carbon block
MUR-LOK Quick Connect (QC) dual EPDM O-Ring fittings
    Automatic shut-off valve
    1/4" QC drain clamp
One MUR-LOK QC ball valve for easy on/off
    Filter wrench
    Self piercing saddle valve
    Chrome faucet connector
    Utility sink/garden hose adapter
    Murlok angle stop adaptor

It's up to you which system to buy of course. But I don't think the BRS system will stand up to the quality of the spectrapure system is all. It is also $60 cheaper then the BRS system. Just trying to help is all.

I've owned two Aqua C EV180s - the first model that came out with two inputs and the later model with the single input. In both cases I was never happy with the skimmer. I'd recommend something different.

Take a look at the Reef Octopus skimmers, especially the cone models. The Bubble Blaster pumps are amazing.

    +1 Will look into that!
Well did some researh on Reef Oct. Seems to be a few issues w/ the pumps EX: loud, failures, runs hot and the unit doesnt come w/ a manual? Any truth about this. The unit it self performs very well but im looking for a QUIET unit thats why im using Eheim pumps

You might be able to get away with the CPR BakPak or the Hydor Slimskim. Both are really good skimmers.
