Hey everyone I'm looking to buy a timer for my lights here soon and wanted to know what everyone recommended. I know a lot of people use the cheapies from home improvement stores, but I have been researching some that will turn on actinics, main lights and moon lights all on seperate timers. Sounds AWESOME, but the 2 that I found had some bad reviews. Anyone had experience with one of these multiple timers that worked good?? Let me know if one worked bad also!!!

I also like the attraction of only 1 timer instead of 2 or 3 under the tank!

I just ordered the coralife dual dayligth timer ($36) today, along with some other goodies online. Although it didn't have the best reviews (from people who can write reviews but can't read instructions, probably), it's probably the best out there. Why mess with 3 different timers for $8 each ($24), when you can just have it all in one easy package? I'll let you know how it works out for me, if you're willing to wait a week or 2 till I get it, try it out, then try to find this thread again. Ok?

What all does that control?? Kris told the cat that is interested in his tank he could have EVERYTHING:eek:! I scolded him immediately, told him he should have parted a bunch of stuff off to me for cheap THEN start throwing around numbers!;D

if you have halides, you will want to get the Coralife digital, as it can handle much more flow........and its more fun to play with :D

I've been using the coralife digi for a few weeks and it's pretty cool. I do wish it was a little more flexible- for example since the actinics and day bulbs (PC) are on the two "daytime" sockets they can't be individually controlled. 2 day, 2 night that turn on when the days are off (auto) and 4 constant one running skimmer, heater, etc. I do like the 7 day /7 program feature (49 settings, whew). I have it set to "random" with a few differing light schedules of varying lengths.
I think I'll eventually pick up a second one so I can time the lights better and add an external pump or powerheads for timed movement.
