Timer on a skimmer?

    Does anyone run their skimmer on a timer? I was thinking maybe from a power savings standpoint more than anything, just curious if it would hurt anything?:-/

    Each time your skimmer turns on it is pretty much useless for a few hours. Most skimmer pumps use very little electricity which means almost no visible savings. Leave it on 24/7.

    Over-skimming is possible. That's the only reason I could see running the skimmer on a schedule. Even then, you could just get the correct size skimmer and a timer is not needed.
