I was wondering what people without controllers use for timers for their lights. I have looked at the coral life power strips with timers but they have consistently bad reviews. Do people use the standard 2 outlet timers plugged into a power strip? I need to control 4 outlets as I have 2 led fixtures with a total of 4 cords.

I use two electronic one plug timers (xmas light timers) on my 24g cardiff w ecoxotic panorama. For my new tank i picked up new GE two plug timers. Later, after the wife gets over the new tank pain i am looking at an Apex system. Maybe radions...

I have the Coralife double timer and have had no problems with it. I saw some of the reviews and they have been rated poorly. I have had mine 3+ years with no problems.

I use the old school timers, (the ones with the pull up tabs), some are single plug and some are double. In total I used 7 timers controlling the led array that I built for my 90 gallon. I like the simplicity and have had the digital versions fail in the past. I made them easy to use by mounting a 39" power bar up and under my stand giving plenty of room for the timers and the plugs to fit and still have a drip loop. It gives me incredible control to ramp up and down the lighting as i see fit and you can change it easily or replace as needed. Simple and cost effective!
