Hey every1 just wanted to post some pics of my next reef tank I'm setting up...I ordered the lights last night(36" Current USA Nova Extreme T5 HO 4 x 39 watt) takes 2-3 weeks to get here:-/.....this is a test run to see if everything is flowing smoothly....Question:Should I get some rock now to let it cure? I was reading that some ppl cure it in complete darkness, Is that possible? If I do need lights could I just get something cheap for the mean time? Or should I just wait till the lights come in?

(How come the pics arent directly on the page????)

    Heres a full tank shot

As long as theres no corals in the tank it wont matter what type of lights you have!! :)

haha yea i hear ya!! In this hobby its always best to double check what you read with people who have gone thru it!!! Yea any normal light will work, you dont even need light to start a cycle just toss in some raw shrimp and ur good to go!!! Hope this helps!

Yup, it provides the crap a tank needs to cycle, you could even pee in your tank to start a cycle, but if you have good live rock seed it with that or some sand!

Well my friend gave me same base rock that was laying around his house so i put it in the tank just like 15lbs, but hey it was free!!! I'm going friday to get some more base rock for my tank....only $1.00-2.00 of al different kinds from dead figi rock to base...I dont mind waiting for the BR to become LR but how much LR should I add to my bas I was thinking of getting 60-80lbs...

For the amount of LR it really all depends on how much rock you like. I have a 180 with probably less rock then most people bc i like the open look. It all really depends on how much you like and the look your going for. No real correct answer on this one bro!
