    hiya alkath here have any of you reefers had trouble with flatworms we seem to be plagued with them at the moment, Alan seems to spend all his time siphoning them out. HELP

    Oh yeah, they are a plague. Keep siphoning. There is really nothing you can do but just that.

    One method is to turn off the lights at night, use a flashlight to gather them up, then siphon them out. The other way to eliminate them is to tear down the tank, but I dont think you'll be doing that, right? ;D

    You know what works great. the long dropped bolt grabbers. they have the long coil and with a push of a button the claws snatch them things right up.

    You could fit an average sized flatworm on the head of a pin. I doubt grabbers would be of much use here :)

    when you say dont squish them is that because they are toxic

    Yes and also, if you squish them, all the little pieces that are left will become new worms.

    dugh, i thought you were talking about the other worm pests, my fault. i probally should read a little closer.

    Try increasing the water flow in your tank. Flat worms dont like high water flow. Check for dead spots and try adding a few powerheads. This should cut down on their reproduction.
