I'm seeing so many things coming off the live rock I bought two months ago... but I'm rather surprised to see small shrimp!

    Size: (0.3~0.5 cm) max length.
Color: Translucent... maybe slightly blue or brown
Locations: Live rock (1), broken oyster shell (2)

Sorry, no picture. I've only seen it/them three times now, and there was no way I could have grabbed a camera in time when it was up close, and the only time it was stationary, it was too far for the camera.

Still, I did sketch one when I saw it "sitting" on the live rock. I then re-drew this sketch on the computer, so that I could share it with you. Please bear in mind, that a lot of squinting was necessary to see these details, and many other details may have gone unnoticed.

It may be important to note that I currently have no fish in the tank, and so perhaps this is why I am seeing this. Tons of worms, copepods, plenty of diatoms... but nothing I think that would eat the shrimp.

Okay--so as incredibly vague as that was... any ideas?

Looks like an amphipod to me. My rock's crawling with them, they're a good sign and great natural food. One of the bonuses of going without fish for a while is that it gives them a chance to reproduce and form a decent colony without getting eaten.

Not an expert though, see what everyone else says.

Great! Thanks to both of you for your help! Wikipedia shows something very similar! :)
