So I am new and I figured I would start with a question! I have some asterina stars that came in on some LR and 1 large serpent star. The past few weeks I have noticed some tiny white stars on the glass of my tank. At first there were only a few but the last couple days I have noticed 100's on the glass! The asterina stars are very mis shaped but these little guys look like they have perfect 5 star shapes. They are far to small to snap a photo....any thoughts? Thanks!

Yeah the center of them is the size of a pencil lead tip. Like I said they do have five arms that are stretched out and they just stay on the glass......EVERYWHERE!! haha

So what I am wondering is this....How do the serpent stars reproduce? Do they split or are they Asexual?

A portion of the brittle star needs to be attached, although we did have a member on here that has had just a leg alive for a while. They also broadcast spawn I believe. The usual suspects hitch-hiker wise can be found here.

They are most likely either Asternia starfish or macro brittle stars. They come in on frags and live rock.
