Any tips to catch my yellow tang. The reef is just to established and he hides. I have tried food and a trap but still nothing. Ive gotten so frustrated that the only way I can find it possible to catch him is to allow his black spot to take its course and make him so sick that he cant swim away. I hate the thought of this but Ive lost hope. HELP!!

my yellow tang would eat seaweed salad right out of my fingers....and i diddnt have to gain its trust it never was afraid of me. when i removed it from my tank i just did this and help a net under it....and scooped him it took me 2 mins.

i just went through the same thing...i eventually ripped out half my LR to get my foxface out. someone afterwords suggested putting a clear bag like the kind you bring your fish home in from the lfs and fill it with tank water and put some sand in the bag to sink it to the bottom. you can put some food in it that sinks and see if the tang goes in. apparently cause the sides are clear they get confused how to get out and make it an easy catch. good luck!

Thats what I use when I need to evict someone. Just leave it there and eventually he will get comfortable with the trap. It took me almost 2 to 3 months to catch a Key hole angel once.
