to actinic or not to actinic?

    hi,the actinic blue bulb on my 24 inch coralife strip died.do i need this or can i just put in another 10.000 bulb like the one in the coralife bar?
    i have googled this,some say actinic is just for viewing pleasure,some say it is good for my soft corals?confussed.

    not needed but it does make the colors nicer in the tank...its purely your preference on 10k or actnic

    Look for a blue or 460nm if you want a bluer look to your tank otherwise a 10000k to 15000K bulb will do just fine. You do not need to use Coralife bulbs in your fixture unless they are 18" long.

    the bulb is 21.5 in. i think ill just put another 10000k into it.
