I am new to this hobby. Had my biocube 29g for 3 going on 4 weeks. Am fully cycled. I have 16lbs of live rock, live sand, and am using b-ionic everyday. I have stock everything in the biocube. I kept the filter and am facing it toward my second chamber instead of how the instructions say. Heater (79 degress), in the chamber with filter. Live rock in second chamber, no bioballs. And I did keep my blue sponge in the last chamber with the pump.

Have 9 inverts, and true perc clown fish. Some coral. Feather duster hitchhikiers (about 5-9). And different type of hitchhiker worms.

    QUESTION:

My powerhead is shooting out "white dots", for the past week or so. I don't know what it is. Is it bubble algae? is it some type of insect? Or what can this be? How do I get rid of it? I don't think it's the sand, since it's shooting out of the powerhead, and my sand isn't moving around a lot.

    It's probably micro bubbles.

I had the same prob. Look at the window on the side and see it its at the maxline if not Shut off the pump for about 5 mins and add like 12 oz of water then turn it back on and slowly add water until its at the max line. That should fix it. If it does fix it get a ATO or make one or just fill it everyday to that line. I have since replace my pump with a rio 6hf and that all stopped for me.

Post and let us know what happened

    Good Luck
    Mike

They are micro bubbles and really aren't that bad for you tank as they help to increase DO in your water column IMO. You could put a pre filter foam/cheese sock to decrease the amount of the micro bubbles, though you will still have them to some extent...
Worst thing would be to any sponge you may have in your tank, or Tridacna Clams, and salt creep from possible spray!

Thanks about to try to fill up to the maxline...

If I buy a sock where do I put it?

Also I thought microbubbles are bad for fish?
