I just got a great deal on one of these, but do not have powerheads hooked up yet. My question is do you use plug four as just another powerhead or as the "main pump" where it stays on all the time? And why do you use it the way you do? Just want to find out all the advantages and disadvantages of both methods. I'm thinking about plugging in a small Koralia 425 as the main pump to keep behind the rocks clear.

just a word of caution i was only able to use maxi jets on mine when i tried it for a very short length of time... koralias went clicking nuts.. and started in reverse alot...
i believe dc pumps like tunzes can only be turned off and on very often

good luck i hope im wrong on this one and you are able to use it to the fullest

Thanks, that's been my biggest research project with this...I don't trust koralias to be turned off and on alot so I might use one on plug 4 if I keep it on all the time. The other 3 powerheads...thinking Tunzes or Sicce Voyagers or Maxijets. I did hear about new Taam Rios coming out soon which are supposed to be able to run on wavemakers.

My other option is to ditch the Wavemaster completely as get another 4 plug outlet for my Reefkeeper Lite. Though I would like to try the Wavemaster first.
