Pretty self explanatory. I just wondered how many have, will have one? I have kept a few and think they are killer in someone else's tank. I will never keep one again. It's a cheesy thread but, there's been a few anemone threads lately.

Well, you already know of my experience with them!;)
Its tough. I may or may not try again later down the road. The consequences can be high, but they are definitely very interesting and cool creatures.

I've had 3 anemones(LTA and 2 Flower Anemone) at the same time, in two different tanks with never an issue. To this day, only the LTA has passed away, but the two FA are going to be 10 yrs old this month. Luna

I have three and now four.

One 75gal has a seabe (had for 8mos) and a bubble tip (had for 6mos) that just split, in that tank the fish don't care about the anenomes.

In my other 75gal I have a seabe that the clown defends with his life.

I've been keeping them and raising them to resell for a while now so that is the only reason I have them anymore My new 90 gallon will not get one just because I dont want the headaches involved with them stinging corals

I have 3 of these. Never was able to get a real solid ID on them.

From my ID thread, I'm leaning towards calling it a Rose Anemone. But I don't actually know.

I had a huge bta in a 12 gallon nano cube.. It was awesome and my mated pair of clowns loved it.. Only problem was it would sting the crap out of everything and killed a few leather corals so I took it out.. Maybe if I ever get a large tank, I might think of getting another one.... Here's a pic...

I kept a condylactus for over 5 years before I gave it to a fellow reefer. Contrary to many people mine DID host at one point a occelaris then a tomato which went to a new home along with the anemone. They(anemones) have a bad rep for mortality because most shops keep them in poor light and in improper conditions weakening them to the point of no return. Haitian Pink tips are also easy to keep(I had one as well for 2 years) most anemones can fairly easy to keep if you feed them and give them appropriate light. Saddles can get big and eat fish as can sebaes so watch for that. Carpets I would avoid as they also get huge, eat fish, tough to keep and are being overcollected in the wild. They reproduce very slowly and many fish and inverts depend on them in the wild so their collection is hurting more than just the anemones. Please do not buy a carpet folks!!

    Good luck!!

I am a believer of living on the edge with my tank. They exist in the wild, so why not in my house. The key is good husbandry. Tank care of them and they will take care of you.
