True, but there is many species of fish and inverts that have dubious records that should be kept in the ocean, obligate coralivore butterflies, moorish idols, certain filefish and carpet anemones-which are NEEDED on the reef to keep the ecosystem in line.

All the same i don't thats what john was getting at. There isn't anything wrong with a challenging creature if you know how to care for it correctly.

Never really thought about getting one and probably never will. In my personal opinion, I think the risks out weight the benefits. I also agree with the fact that many fish stores keep them in poor lighting conditions. I just don't want to deal with them. Unlike Pharmrjohn, I don't want my aquarium living on the edge. I like peaceful animals. The most potent thing I have is my frogspawn

i think if you could get one from a dealer you trust and one that you know is healthy, it would make things much easier. But therein lies the problem :/

I was unaware of the responsibility or consequences when i bought mine...but i think in retrospect im glad i did. Its pretty rewarding when you can be successful with a difficult animal to keep.

I absolutely agree. Those that have a bad record in captivity should not be removed from the ocean. Period. End of story. Big believer in that.

lol! Like babysitting a 3-4 year old. From ones that we kept at the store I worked at to the very few I've kept.

I have a BTA. I honestly do nothing for this thing. It might as well be a rock in my tank. I feed the tank formula B keep my parameters in check and wala! I've had him for about a year now.
