Heat is pretty normal this time of year, and really hasn't been all that extreme.

However, the storm last night was nuts. I've lived every day of my life in this state, and it was like nothing I've ever seen.

My neighborhood looked like Pompeii this morning. Cars, houses, sidewalks, streets, plants, everything brown. Completely covered in desert sand. You could see it coming last night before dark; looked like the scene from "The Mummy".

Only a handful of areas actually lost power. Mine flickered once, but that was it. We had a "regular" monsoon storm last week on the east side of town that affected more people's power than last night.

Yeah I saw that last night on the news that looked intense, I remember when I was in the middle of the desert I got hit with something similar but way the heck smaller, it was a 50+ mph gust of wind that came down off the mountain knocked me and some friends off our bikes and moved my friends parked quad 3 feet can't even imagine something the size of that magnitude!!!

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
I was thinking about you the other day evolved, last week I guess where you hit 118 F and then with the haboob yesterday. Me I love a good storm.

We have gotten a little rain this week, but no prolonged down poors. Toads are out though so that is cool.

ya that dust storm was crazy. that 70 mile wide cloud of dust coming towards us looked like something you see in the movies. i park outside so when I was driving today I had a huge trail following me of all that dirt n crap that settled on my truck. i felt bad for all the people behind me in thier freshly washed cars.

Oh, it looked like the smoke we used to get from the everglades, and the great dismal swamp.

    My bad.
