    High Mike, great to see you here! Thanks for the great information as per usual! I really must echo what Mike said about testing before adding anything.

    Too much iodine is far worse than too little. Unless you have a zillion cristaceans you probably don't need to dose iodine. Crustaceans use iodine in the monthly molting cycle. My Red Skunk Cleaner Shrimp are my best iodine indicator. As long as they are molting and all other water parameters check out, then I know my iodine is OK and I don't test for it.

    If noticed a change in my shrimp molt I would test for iodine. Iodine is just an example, but it applies to all other dosing/supplementation.

      How often does your shrimp molt craig? I have a cleaner and he molts like crazy at least once a month!
      I went out last night to get a iodine test but there were none to be got so I got a 6-line wrasse ( he's so cool) and since I was there to get a test kit I picked up an oxygen test kit. I don't have one of those either!
      I will test for oxygen later today reading the results looks weird on this test but I'll figure it out. But here is the thing!;
      Do you think I should stop using the iodine altogether until I can get a test kit? Or would that be bad?
      I have been using KENT and I dose 8 drops every day.(If this helps.)
      I have Xenia corals witch is why I started dosing iodine in the first place.
                          Please tell me what you think.
                                        THANKS    D.

    Matt I am not sure they have a website. Is r\thier something I left out?

    Mason I would hold on until you can order a kit. its just better to be safe. Levels of both Iodide and Iodate combined in NSW range from 0 to .06 mg/L.
