When I fist started adding corals I started dosing two part every day. and things really fluctuated, I was put in the hospital a few weeks ago for severe anemia and low blood count so there was no one to dose the tank. ( I have since taught everyone in the house about the tank ) After a week in the hospital I tested my water thinking this would be out of whack and they werent everything was okay alk was 10 ca was 470 mg was 1300. I havent dosed in a week and everything has remained stable, I think the tank is much more stable now that I am not dosing anything. should I leave my numbers where they are and monitor them?

definitely, dont dose based on instructions on packaging
    dose based on demand

    monitor your tank
test weekly and then work out how much of you chosen product you need to add to compensate for what is being utilised

    Agree with Steve.

Also, what were you dosing (what product) and how much? Some products aren't all that concentrated, so you may not have been doing as much as you think.
