Eh, if it is the same as a bakpak2r, then I would not use it on any tank bigger than maybe 35g. I had a modded cpr bakpak2r and it was ok, maybe worth the 50 bucks I paid for it used with a new pump and the bubble trap and surface skimemr. New that setup would be around 200. That is not worth that new price IMHO.

The other thing about the bakpak, is that it is loud. Regardless what I tried to do to make it quiet, it was too loud for a HOB skimmer.

Have you looked at Coralife skimmer. They are a decent skimmer for fairly cheap.

You would buy the coralife over the bak-pak? I need it to be HOB and it can't be very loud, my tank is in my bed room.

in the sump is the way to go though... I have an octopus and i can be sitting in the same room as my tank and not even hear it! The only sound it makes is the sound of thousands of air bubbles popping

I have the coralife rated for 125. It can go in sump or HOB and runs completely silent. I think they run about $200 but the one rated for 65 gallons is about $100.

I think i'm gonna go with the coralife 125. The LFS owner always had good things to say about them and silence is a plus.

    thank you
