    is too high of a calcium levels bad? (over 520)

    i think it is bad; im not sure what effects it has but being like 420-480 is safer IMO

    That's pretty, high, but what are the Alk and Mag readings?

    I do not have a ALK and ma tester, i bought the API master reef kit and it did not come with those sadly.

    A calcium reading itself doesn't tell you much. You need to find out what the other readings are.

    so you recomend picking up the ALK and MA testers as well

    Alk test comes with the master reef kit. it is the DKH test if i am correct. the mag you have to buy separate.
