to much circulation

    i went to the lfs and got live rock and when i got home there was a mushroom on it i put the rock in the tank and it just got bigger and bigger each minute and i just put in a new powerhead for circulation and now it seems like the mushroom is shrinking slowly is ther to much circulation this is my only source of circulation other thatn protein skimmer

    They don't like a hard blast of water and I always found they do better in lower light levels and lower flow and on the very bottom of the tank also. They will move up all on their own. Now the down side is I call them tank Roaches :) meaning once they get a start and settle in they will breed like rabbits on infertility hormones. I'll never add one again . I tried everything to inject and kill them all failed . They took over a tank and smothered out everything else.. Just something to think on before they get going well for you...

    cool, i wish i had a tank full of shrooms, lol. i just started mine, and they like the low light too. i had them in the middle for a week, and they kept shrinking around mid day, so i put them on the bottome, and they went back to normal.
