I have some mushrooms that over the past couple of months have went from a dark orange the size of a baseball to a very light orange and the size of a penny. I moved my t-5's 6 inches closer to the water and it seems when I did that the mushrooms have been suffering. Should I move them lower or will they adjust eventually?

Move them lower or under a legge or raise the lights.

    ***UPDATE***
Well I moved the mushrooms to the bottom of the tank last week and they are still acting the same. I have noticed them pushing their guts out their mouth and it looks like little mushrooms or little lips ontop of them.

Yes, they do that when stressed, they will settle down.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
IMO it takes along time for mushroom to recover from photoshock/intense lighting. I would just keep them lower and give them time.
