Hi everyone. Haven't posted in a while.

Just started my first job as an RN this week! Busy busy.

I did a whole lot more work on my tank stand today, so I'll post more pics to the thread when I take them.

I'm getting ready to buy a tank. 75g. I'm going to be adding a sump to the setup within a month.

The 75g tank from petco without an overflow is 179.00.
With a built in overflow, 260ish.

I'm very much leaning towards getting a built in overflow. I'm not interested in doing major drilling projects at this point in time, and most of the HOB overflows that I've looked at are around 60 bucks anyway, so I'd be spending just as much for something that would give me less peace of mind.

I won't order the tank for another week or so.... and I don't want to make a mistake.

Any reason for me to NOT order the tank with a built in overflow? Should I reconsider, and look into drilling the tank myself?

    Thanks in advice everyone. :)

    Congrats on the RN job!!

Buy the tank with the built in overflow. Its safer, less likly to clog than a hang on. (not saying it cant clog) And cleaner looking

    Good luck

Kinda what I was thinking. I would listen to you if you told me to build my tank out of cardboard, purely because of your profile picture. :p

absolutely 100% get it with the built-in overflow. I went from a 55g without overflow and sump to a 70g with overflow and sump, it's day and night difference. I will never buy another tank without an overflow and sump. Def pay the extra $ now you won't regret it.

Yeah you gotta go with with built in. So much easier and you don't have to worry about leaving space between the wall and tank for a hang on overflow.
